About this event

A relaxed and welcoming practice space dedicated to the foundations of Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz, where you can learn, explore, repeat, ask questions and gradually build confidence in your movement and musicality. The Practice Lab focuses on the essential rhythms, steps and vocabulary of both styles, helping participants develop coordination, groove, footwork, rhythm, improvisation and connection to jazz music. The atmosphere is informal and supportive, allowing everyone to progress at their own pace and enjoy the learning process without pressure. Lindy Hop is a joyful African American social dance that emerged in Harlem, New York, in the late 1920s and 1930s, growing alongside Swing Jazz and the lively dance culture of venues such as the legendary Savoy Ballroom. Its roots include Charleston, Breakaway and other African American vernacular dance traditions. In this Practice Lab, we explore these foundations in a friendly, community-oriented environment. The session gradually opens into social dancing and social gathering, giving participants the opportunity to practice what they have learned, dance together, share music and simply enjoy being part of the group. Whether you are taking your first steps or already dance Swing and would like more time to practice, this is a space to learn, connect, experiment and have fun. Learn the roots. Feel the rhythm. Share the dance. All levels welcome · No partner required
