About this event

The Madeira Nature Festival invites residents and visitors to explore the archipelago through outdoor sport, adventure and well-being activities. The programme traditionally encompasses levada walks, canyoning beside mountain waterfalls, cycling along forest trails and experiences connected with Madeira’s cultural and historical heritage. Activities take place from the coast to the mountains and highlight landscapes including the UNESCO-listed Laurissilva forest. Gastronomy, wine tourism, music and wellness complement the active programme, which is designed for participants of different ages and experience levels. Programme: 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Xavelha boat trip from Câmara de Lobos to Fajã dos Padres, including a visit and fruit tasting 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, SUP, kayaking and surfing at Praia do Cais in Seixal 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Canyoning and regional tasting at Ribeira das Cales 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Santa Maria Manuela ship visit at Pier 6 in Funchal 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Diving Experience at Madeira Dive Point 11:00 AM, Coffee Rave at Barceló Funchal Oldtown 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Before the Noise at Cais do Carvão 6:00 PM, Drum Circle Workshop at Praia Formosa 6:35 PM, Gaitada na Baixa at Ponta do Sol Beach 9:30 PM, Elara Circus Arts Performance at Ilhéu de Câmara de Lobos. Mapping Whales also runs during the day, with its time and venue not specified in the booklet.
