The seemingly ordinary world first explored in The Amputee finds its fullest expression in Blue Velvet, one of David Lynch’s most celebrated films. When Jeffrey Beaumont discovers a severed human ear in an empty field, his curiosity draws him into a hidden world of violence, desire and obsession lurking beneath the peaceful façade of a small American town. Considered one of the defining films of the 1980s, Blue Velvet established Lynch as one of contemporary cinema’s most distinctive filmmakers.
