Screenings Funchal: Twin Peaks

A prequel to the acclaimed television series Twin Peaks, Fire Walk with Me follows the final seven days in the life of Laura Palmer, revealing the suffering hidden behind the image of a seemingly ordinary teenage girl. Rather than simply explaining the events of the series, David Lynch creates a deeply unsettling exploration of trauma, fear and the loss of innocence, placing Laura and her experience at the heart of the story. Controversially received upon its original release, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me has since been widely reassessed and is now regarded as one of the most intense and emotionally powerful films in Lynch’s body of work.
