'Islands Revisited' at Casa das MUDAS and Galeria.dois Galleries

“Islands Revisited” presents work by Madeiran artist Joana Viveiros and Azorean artist Rosa Coutinho Cabral, curated by Hugo Olim. Opening simultaneously at Galerias Casa das MUDAS and Galeria.dois, the exhibition marks the centenary of Raúl Brandão’s “The Unknown Islands”. The project grew from an open call and a joint residency in Madeira, encouraging artistic exchange and contemporary reflections on island territory, identity and heritage. Admission is free until 31 October. A complementary educational programme offers free workshops and guided visits for schools and the general public, subject to booking. The exhibition will subsequently travel to another contemporary art centre.
