TBD: Lea Bach - A Harpa no Funchal Cosmopolita 1949

Léa Bach – A Harpa no Funchal Cosmopolita 1949 is an intimate harp concert by Madeiran musician Jéssica Sá, dedicated to the life and legacy of Catalan harpist Léa Bach and her connection to Madeira in 1949. Born in 1891, Léa Bach began studying the harp at the age of seven at the Conservatory of the Liceu Filarmónico Dramático de S.M. la Reina Isabel II in Barcelona. A child prodigy, she completed her studies at just 13 years old and went on to perform internationally, including appearances at Carnegie Hall in New York. Throughout her career, she received numerous awards and distinctions, including Portugal’s Military Order of Santiago da Espada. Through this concert, Jéssica Sá revisits Bach’s story and aims to bring to light the vibrant and cosmopolitan cultural atmosphere of Madeira in 1949.
