Madeira Paragliding

Madeira Paragliding is based in Arco da Calheta, one of the sunniest areas on the island. The take-off site faces east, south and west, allowing regular flying operations throughout much of the year, depending on wind conditions. The offer is aimed at both first-time passengers and experienced pilots. Tandem flights are organised on a day-by-day basis and depend on the weather, which means advance bookings are not possible. Flight times are confirmed on the day itself once conditions are assessed. For active pilots, Madeira Paragliding provides support with choosing suitable take-off and landing sites, as well as guidance on local weather and thermal conditions. The island offers a wide range of flying options for this purpose. Take-off and landing take place close to the coast, including areas such as Madalena or Calheta. The take-off area functions as a regular meeting point for pilots and is well used without feeling crowded. Basic facilities are available on site.
