OpenDance Madeira

OpenDance Madeira is a well-established reference for social dance in Madeira, with a journey that began in 2008, founded by Cuban dance teacher and dancer Niurys Oliveras, who brought her experience, culture, and passion for dance to the island. Since then, OpenDance has grown into a multicultural space where different cultures, languages, and dance styles come together. Our academy offers classes in Cuban Salsa (Casino), Rueda de Casino, Sensual Bachata, Kizomba & Semba, Argentine Tango, Forró, Samba, Flamenco, and Urban Dance, among other styles that continuously enrich our programme. We offer regular group classes as well as private lessons, adapted to different levels and individual goals. Our international character allows us to teach in Portuguese, Spanish, English, and Russian, making it easier for people of different nationalities to learn, connect, and fully enjoy the OpenDance experience. But OpenDance is much more than learning how to dance. ❤️ We are a big family, a place where everyone is warmly welcomed, regardless of age, nationality, or previous dance experience. We want everyone who walks into our academy for the first time to discover a friendly, joyful, and relaxed atmosphere where they can learn, meet new people, and feel part of a community. One of our greatest hallmarks is our social dance parties and Afro-Latin events. We create authentic experiences filled with music, dance, and energy, taking care of every detail and always looking for new ways to surprise our community. We don’t simply organise parties: we create moments people remember. The quality of our teaching is another of our core values. We have an international team of specialised dance teachers who are passionate about what they do and committed to each student’s progress. After so many years, we continue to evolve, innovate, and explore effective teaching methods that allow our students to learn in a clear, natural, and progressive way, developing technique, musicality, and a beautiful, authentic style of dancing.
