Madeira International Organ Festival

Hear Alexander Paine explore the influence of southern musical traditions on composers across Europe and beyond. This varied organ recital includes works by Buxtehude, Sweelinck, Pachelbel, Pasquini and Zipoli, alongside English voluntaries and Paine’s own Theme and Variations. Dance forms, imaginative keyboard writing and musical exchanges connect the programme’s different voices. Come for an opportunity to discover how ideas travelled between composers, leaving traces that can still be heard across centuries of organ music.
