Madeira International Organ Festival

Organist Gregório Gomes and mezzo-soprano Ana dos Santos present a programme reflecting on island identity, journeys and belonging. Vocal and instrumental works by Bach, Purcell, Haydn, Handel, Barber and others move through contemplation, celebration and hope. Created to mark fifty years of Madeira’s autonomy, the concert combines the intimacy of the human voice with the organ’s changing colours. Its final work, Stanford’s Crossing the Bar, brings the themes of departure and connection into focus.
