Madeira International Organ Festival

Discover the distinctive partnership of organ and sackbut with Javier Artigas and Simeón Galduf. Marking four hundred years since the publication of Correa de Arauxo’s Facultad Organica, this concert explores instrumental music from the Renaissance and early Baroque. Works by Correa, Diego Ortiz, Antonio Valente and Giovanni Battista Fontana reveal contrasting approaches to ornament, expression and invention. The warm, flexible voice of the historical trombone meets the organ in a programme full of musical dialogue.
