Madeira International Organ Festival

Be among the first to hear Insulana, a new work for soprano, organ and strings inspired by Manuel Tomás’s epic poem. Soprano Patrycja Gabrel, organist Laura Silva Mendes and the Orquestra Clássica da Madeira perform under Norberto Gomes. Commissioned to celebrate fifty years of Madeira’s autonomy, the work brings together four movements by João Santos, João Caldeira, Sérgio Silva and Daniel Davis. Each composer offers a different musical response to the poem’s stories and imagery.
