Course

Park in Levada de Cima in the village; the Levada de Cima flows right past here; upstream to the Madre, ascent on the path along the Ribeira dos Moinhos, path buried, back to Rocada, on the Levada de Boaventura above the road to Boaventura, follow the signpost towards Origem da Levada on the road and, at the end, a path along another small levada to its Madre in a gorge, back to the road and back to Rocada, along the Levada de Cima back to the car. Drive to Tanque, ascent to the Levada da Achada Grande, upstream to the Madre, back and a little further shortly before the end, back to the car

Distance: ca. 21 Km ca. 300 m of ascent

Condition

Levada de Cima a little slippery, and two somewhat exposed spots, no protection
We missed the ascent to the Levada da Achada Grande along the signpost and the small levada.
Levada da Achada Grande no problem apart from one somewhat exposed spot; a beautiful Madre!
