From the Fanal car park, descent to the Levada dos Cedros, halfway along the old course to the Madre

Distance: ca. 3.5 Km ca. 160 Hm

Condition

Easy as far as the second stream crossing, then increasingly overgrown and wet, but not dangerous

Remarks

The aim of this side trip was to get to the bottom of the mismatch between the course of the Levada dos Cedros on the map and on the GPS tracks. For more detail see the excursus under Levada dos Cedros.
