Course

From the south-western entrance of the Canical tunnel through the tunnel and on the Levada do Canical as far as the end, path to the cliff path, Pico das Rocadas, Boca do Risco, north-coast path as far as Espigao Amarelo, back to the Boca do Risco, descent to the Levada do Canical and on it back to the starting point

Distance: 19.6 Km, 600 m ascent, 600 m descent

Start: 10.17 Canical tunnel

End

18.00 Canical tunnel

Condition

Levada easy

Cliff path to the Pico das Rocadas a little slippery on the descent; the path to the Boca do Risco somewhat overgrown, but good to walk

North-coast path restored and very comfortable to walk; the protections have been renewed

Remarks

The cliff path over the Pico das Rocadas to the Boca do Risco is very fine, with great views of the north coast and of the Sao Lourenco peninsula
