Course

From the end of the cul-de-sac (road closed towards Eira do Serrado) on the gravel track up the valley, on the stone steps to the tunnel exit and back up to the gravel track, on this to the level of the tunnel exit, on a small path to the Levada do Cidrao, on this to the bridge over the side stream with the intake, on along the levada, exposed, to the old Madre, in the stream bed to the end of the feeder pipes and the Geocache 'Rocks of Cidrao'.

Back the same way, with a detour to the intake in the side stream.

Because I had never been there, on the way back we went to the Miradouro do Curral das Freiras and from there scrambled onto the small summit above (Geocache 'Curral').

Distance: 4 Km, 100 m of ascent, 100 m of descent / 1,5 Km 50 m of ascent 50 m of descent

Start: 12.35 car park

End

14.20 car park

Condition

The Levada do Cidrao is fairly exposed, on rotten paths and bridges. Sure footing is necessary

Notes
