Course
Today I was out entirely on my own, on one of my favourite levadas. Not for the first time, but I am always glad to be out here.
I started at the walking pull-off on the Fanal road, first via Palha Carga onto the 25 Fontes levada as far as the waterfall, and then off it as quickly as possible onto the Levada da Rocha Vermelha, at the levada house upstream to the newly rebuilt old Madre, up on the newly built footpath to the PR 13, and on that back to the starting point.
Distance: 18.5 km, 604 m of ascent, 604 m of descent

Condition
Sure footing and a head for heights are needed for the whole walk.
The circuit is made up only of official PRs, but you meet very few walkers here.
Remarks
A fine circuit in the lonely part of the Rabaçal area.
