Course

Taken in along the stream bed, then shortly after the Madre 3 old water houses, on along the Vereda Nova da Levada da Corujeira, the Caminho dos Saltos and into the Vereda da Levada da Corujeira. From here the onward course is unclear. Later it runs along the Estrada do Livramento, piped or in wall passages with air slits, as far as the Quinta dos Reis.

After that along the Estrada Luso-Brasileira, where it can no longer be seen.

Function and use

Irrigation of the former fields and the gardens in Corujeira along the Estrada do Livramento. The Estrada do Livramento may correspond to the old levada path, from when farming was still carried on here.

Condition

The open course to the Madre should be walked with care. Otherwise the levada is mostly piped

Remarks

On the Estrada do Livramento the levada pipe can be seen at the crossing with the Caminho do Ferro.

The air slits in the wall course along the Estrada do Livramento can be made out as well.
