Course

From the Madre, which here was laid into the mountain as a tunnel, behind the factory building behind the large roundabout (Rotunda da Fundoa), soon quite exposed above the Estr. Cmte. Camacho de Freitas as far as the road crossing. This tunnel, in which the levada passes under the road, is not possible to walk. Here you reach the end of the tunnel and, beside the levada, the Caminho da Fundoa de Cima. First above a wall, then along this road.

The levada leaves the road briefly and comes back to the roadside on the Caminho de Sao Roque. From here along the Caminho de Sao Roque, past old levada structures. On past the Capela de Nossa Senhora da Conceição de São Roque.

On along the Caminho da Achada, with further interesting levada structures. The levada ends here in the Calçada do Pico.
