Madrei

Ribeira da Vargem N 32°46.398 W 17°01.835 ca. 354 m a.s.l.

Course

The Madre in the Ribeira da Vargem is hard to reach. It is a weir that leads the water into the western retaining wall and along it to the crossing with the VE4, a short way along that on the left-hand side of the road, and then piped under the side road that joins it, into the first vineyards.

Then comes a pipe bridge over the stream, and from here the levada runs above the VE4. Here the water is first collected in a basin and then runs through the gorge of the Ribeira dos Agrioes ou Seca as far as Feiteiras. From here, above the new church of Feiteiras, to the end of the cultivated fields.

End

Feiteiras ca. 250 m a.s.l.
