Lido Funchal - Câmara de Lobos

The walk from the Lido in Funchal to Câmara de Lobos offers a varied coastal route with many impressions and almost continuous views of the Atlantic. From the lively Lido with swimming pools, restaurants and bars, the path leads past quieter, more natural sections. Shortly before Praia Formosa, Funchal's largest beach, the route passes through a tunnel carved into the rock. On the beach itself, a stop at the Barra Azul snack bar is a good idea. If you fancy cooling off along the way, there are several opportunities to swim along the route - from the sea swimming pool at the Lido to the natural inlets at Praia Formosa. The promenade continues along a small industrial park before reaching the picturesque fishing village of Câmara de Lobos with its colorful harbor and cozy bars. Here you can enjoy a poncha in Bar Nº 2 and let your gaze wander over the fishing boats before heading back to Funchal.
