Tasquinha O Salsa

Tasquinha O Salsa is run by a warm, local couple and is one of those bars in Machico people visit mainly for one drink: poncha. Many consider it the best in town — freshly mixed, full of flavour and without any fuss. Passion fruit poncha and ginja are especially popular, often served with small snacks. The bar is small, authentic and clearly local in character. There are few tourists, but plenty of locals gathering on the small square in front. Prices are very fair, whether for poncha, coffee or a small draft beer.
