Corujeira, Levada dos Tornos, Centro Tematico de Agua, the bed of the Ribeira de Santa Luzia, the start of the Escadinhas do Menino Jesus, climb up the steps to the first water house, climb to the Levada do Barreiro, on the Levada do Barreiro as far as the stair descent to the Madre of the Levada da Serra da Alegria inf., on the Levada da Serra da Alegria inf. as far as the central junction (surge chamber), descent on the Lombo de Joao Boieiro, end in Lombo de Joao Boieiro.

Distance: 15 Km, 820 Hm ascent, 1035 Hm descent

Condition

A demanding walk with quite exposed sections, often overgrown, but cleared when needed by the work party of the Amigos de Natureza, slippery stair sections on the descent, suitable only for walkers with sure footing and a head for heights
