From the ER-229 by road and path to the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Gloria, ascent by steps to Vigia, path to the coast and on to Calhau da Lapa, ascent by steps and then along the ridge and over the road to Lombo, across fields and small paths up to the Levada do Norte, on the Levada do Norte first downstream, then upstream to Boa Morte, descent on small roads and paths to the starting point

Condition

From the start to Vigia straightforward on good paths; the descent to Calhau da Lapa a little slippery and in places prickly (cacti). Ascent to the road towards Lombo on a trodden path along the cliff, straightforward, a little sense of direction called for. There are many ways up to the Levada do Norte; we did not necessarily choose the easiest. Levada do Norte straightforward; the direct descent to the start is easy with a little sense of direction, otherwise also possible by longer ways round

Remarks

A scenic up-and-down walk without particular difficulties, but with strong impressions
