Course
From Estreito de Camara de Lobos against the direction of flow of the Levada do Norte into the valley of the Ribeira de Caixa, ascent to Jardim da Serra, path over the bridge of the Ribeira to Fontainhas, descent to Quinta Grande and on the Levada do Norte to Nogueira, descent into the valley floor of the Ribeira da Caixa and ascent again to the levada and back to the starting point
Distance: 17.7 Km, 770 m ascent, 770 m descent

Condition
Levada mostly easy
In the valley of the Ribeira da Caixa several somewhat exposed spots; the wall passages can be bypassed
The rest of the path is in good condition
Remarks
An exciting section of the Levada do Norte and a quieter section down into the valley floor of the Ribeira (terraces all the way to the bottom!)
