Course
The Madre lies below a waterfall. Very narrow and slippery at the start, then gradually easier. Above a few fields it finally crosses the Impasse de Pico and then here the Estrada do Pico. It continues north-west to the Estrada Luis Augusto Acciaiolli, then along the Travessa da Serra de Agua until it joins the Levada Grande.
Shortly after that the shared course turns here into the Rua Tenente Domingos Cardoso. Follow it to a branch into the fields and finally here into the Levada do Cantinho.
