Course

The eastern branch begins in the Ribeira de Santo Antonio and, after about 50 metres, enters a tunnel 180 metres long that passes under the Lombo de Santo Antonio. Here the levada at times receives water via a waterfall from the Levada de Santo Antonio inf.1. From the tunnel exit the levada is carried in a pipe across the Ribeira dos Pregos and meets the western branch.

The western branch is taken in the Ribeira dos Pregos, under a bridge of the Avenida Bispo Jorge de Lomos, and meets the pipe from the eastern branch.

It continues along the Avenida Bispo Jorge de Lemos, past the expressway exit 'S.to Antonio, Simao, Alves' towards Covas, above the tunnel portal south into the valley of the Ribeira das Covas and above the next expressway tunnel portal towards Barreiro, again through a short tunnel under the Rua da Igreja, again above the tunnel portal to the south, across a first branch of the Corrego da Soca to the crossing with the Estr. Dr. Agostinho Cardoso-Medico, to the next crossing of the Corrego da Soca, another crossing with the Estr. Dr. Agostinho Cardoso-Medico, on above the expressway to the large expressway roundabout in Santana, piped around the filling station and then on above the expressway to the crossing with the Rua Tenente Domingos Chao. Here the shared course of the Levada Grande and the Levada da Armoreira ou do Pinheiro also ends. The Cantinho then crosses the Estrada do Pinheiro and ends at the Estrada do Pico in Serra de Agua
