Madrei
Ribeira da Fajã das Éguas N 32°44.276 W 17°01.847 ca. 627 m a.s.l.
Course
The Madre lies below a small waterfall; here the water is taken in and then, a little later, led across the stream in a pipe. Then it runs in the open again to the ascent path to Fajã das Éguas. There are a few peculiarities here: the levada course is often like a stream, then somewhat exposed again, and there are levada steps that take a little concentration to get down.
For the most part it runs harmlessly below the retaining wall of the fields above. After the path crossing it is quite rough and overgrown, crosses the ascent path to the Levada da Pedreira and continues above Eira da Moura as far as a concrete retaining wall. A little beyond that lie the last irrigated fields; then nothing more of the levada can be made out.
End
Eira da Moura ca. 540 m a.s.l.
