Remarks
During the great levada rebuilding of 1950–1966, the water of the Ribeira do Porco and the Ribeira do João Fernandes was tapped by the Levada dos Tornos, and that water was then missing at the two Madres. To secure the water supply around Boaventura, the new Levada da Achada Grande was built, with its intake in the Ribeira dos Moinhos; it flows in the opposite direction.
