The Terca small power station was built in 1999. It is tied into the drinking-water supply of Funchal and the surrounding area.
The penstock runs from the Alegria water-treatment plant to the power station. The station is supplied with water by the Levada dos Tornos South.
The output is 0,8 MW. IGA uses the electricity to power the drinking-water network.
From the small power station the water flows into the Terca drinking-water reservoir.
