Course
On the way back I stopped here at the miradouro, at the crossing of the Levada da Serra and the Levada do Lombo do Mouro. I had long wanted a closer look at this rock gate and at the start of the Levada do Lombo do Mouro.
Work is being done on this section at the moment, and officially the levada is closed, but as I turned up in the extended lunch hour, nobody was at work. So a short way down the steep descent to the rock gate, and on along the horizontal part as far as the large stream crossing. And back again by the same path.
Distance: 1.3 Km, 50 Hm ascent, 50 Hm descent

A construction site at the moment, steep and slippery
Remarks
As a passage for a levada, the rock gate is, I believe, unique in this form
