Madrei

Eastern side branch of the Ribeira da Faja das Eguas N 32° 44.464 W 17°01.833 ca. 702 m a.s.l.

Course

From the Madre in the side branch of the Ribeira da Faja das Eguas (beside a rather rickety wooden bridge that leads to fields and to the Madre of the Levada da Eira da Moura), narrow and overgrown as far as the Vereda do Pico Redondo. Here in 2022 a stream came down from the Levada da Achadinha, and it too is led into the levada. This inflow looked quite permanent.

On along the path; then the water was diverted onto a stream-like outflow that could not be walked. From the turning place of the Estrada da Eira do Moura in Faja dos Vinhaticos this part can be walked as far as the stream.

The turning place is crossed in the retaining wall; after that it continues between the houses and then above the fields to the end.

Faja dos Vinhaticos ca. 560 m a.s.l.
