Course
The Madre of the levada cannot be reached; it is not possible to get to it above the path from Jardim do Mar to Prazeres. The levada meets the path where it makes a sharp bend to the west, then follows the path, reaches the well-preserved Moinho das Roseiras and follows the path on into the centre of Jardim do Mar. There it is carefully fitted into the cobbled paths.

Irrigation of the fields above Jardim do Mar and of the gardens in Jardim do Mar; originally it fed the Moinho das Roseiras

Path from Jardim do Mar to Prazeres
Condition
The path along the levada is easy, though later, after leaving the levada, it is somewhat overgrown and in places slippery. And quite steep!
Remarks
The Moinho das Roseiras has been converted into a small museum and is well preserved!
