Miradouro do Cristo Rei

The Miradouro do Cristo Rei is a popular viewpoint in Garajau. It is known for its large Christ statue and beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean and Madeira’s south coast. Parking is easy, with many parking spaces nearby. From the Cristo Rei statue, you can also see Praia do Garajau below. You can reach the beach by walking down or by taking the cable car. Cristo Rei is a popular tourist attraction and can get quite busy. To reach the viewpoint at the end of the headland, you need to walk down around 220 steps. Remember that you will have to climb the steps again on your way back.
