Véu da Noiva Viewpoint
About this tip
Véu da Noiva is one of the classic viewpoints along Madeira’s north coast and an easy stop if you’re exploring this part of the island. From the viewpoint, you look across the dramatic coastline towards the waterfall cascading down the steep green cliffs into the Atlantic.
The waterfall takes its name from its resemblance to a bride’s veil – “Véu da Noiva” in Portuguese. Together with the rugged cliffs and open ocean, it creates one of those typical north coast views that are definitely worth a quick stop.
It’s a popular photo spot and can get busy, but you usually don’t need much time here. We’d recommend combining Véu da Noiva with Seixal, São Vicente or other stops along the north coast rather than making a separate trip just for the viewpoint.
On a clear day, the combination of the dark volcanic cliffs, lush green slopes, waterfall and Atlantic makes the view particularly impressive.
